SVG Tiny PS (Portable/Secure) is the specific SVG image profile that BIMI requires for the logo a mailbox provider shows beside your messages. It is a tightened subset of SVG Tiny 1.2, designed so logos render consistently and cannot carry active or external content.
The profile bans anything that could be unsafe or unpredictable: no <script>, no animation, no external references, no raster images, and no hyperlinks. The document must declare baseProfile="tiny-ps", include a <title>, use a single fixed viewBox, and define an explicit background fill. Files must be square and are expected to stay small, typically well under 32 KB.
A logo that fails these rules will be rejected and no BIMI avatar appears, even when DMARC is correctly enforced. Most brand artwork starts as a print-oriented or full-featured SVG, so it usually needs converting and stripping back to the Tiny PS subset before publishing the BIMI record. For Gmail and Apple Mail you will also need the same artwork inside a VMC or CMC certificate. Validate the file against the profile before going live, since a single disallowed element invalidates the whole image.
